Mutual confidentiality agreement
Version 1.0 · Effective October 29, 2026
You'll be sharing real information about your organization with us, and we'll be sharing our methods with you. This agreement makes sure both sides keep it private.
It's between Ravel Strategy Group (Sameena Velshi, Toronto, Ontario; “Ravel”) and the organization that accepts it when it starts its Grant Desk (“the Organization”). The person who accepts it confirms they're allowed to agree on the Organization's behalf. Grant Desk records who accepted it, when, and which version.
1. What's confidential
“Confidential information” means anything either side shares with the other through Grant Desk or in conversations about funding or working together that isn't public, including:
- The Organization's information: financial details, plans, projects, applications, documents, team and customer information, and anything else it adds to its Grant Desk.
- Ravel's information: non-public program research, methods, templates, pricing and the inner workings of Grant Desk.
It doesn't include information that is or becomes public through no fault of the person receiving it, that they already knew, that they developed on their own, or that they received lawfully from someone else without a duty of confidence.
2. How each side uses it
- Use the other side's confidential information only to find, prepare and track funding, and to decide whether to work together.
- Don't share it with anyone except their own people and service providers who need it for that purpose and who must keep it confidential. Ravel's service providers are listed in the privacy policy.
- Protect it with at least the care used for their own confidential information, and never less than reasonable care.
3. Ravel's access to the Organization's Grant Desk
- Only Sameena Velshi, and people working for Ravel whom she authorizes and who are bound by confidentiality, can open the Organization's Grant Desk.
- Each time someone from Ravel opens it, it's recorded and shown to the Organization on its Profile page. Every change is recorded in History.
- Ravel never shares the Organization's information with other clients, funders or anyone else without the Organization's permission, and never submits an application or contacts a funder on the Organization's behalf without its permission.
- The Organization's information is never sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
4. When the law requires disclosure
If either side is legally required to disclose the other's confidential information, it will, where the law allows, tell the other side first and disclose only what is required.
5. Returning or deleting information
When the Organization asks, or closes its Grant Desk, Ravel deletes the Organization's information within 30 days, except copies the law requires Ravel to keep and routine backups that are deleted on their normal schedule. Anything kept stays protected by this agreement.
6. How long it lasts
This agreement applies while the Organization uses Grant Desk or works with Ravel, and for 3 years after. Trade secrets and personal information stay protected for as long as they remain trade secrets or personal information.
7. No obligation to buy
Accepting this agreement doesn't commit the Organization to buy anything. The funding dashboard is free. Paid services are agreed separately, in writing, only if the Organization chooses them.
8. General
- Ontario law and the applicable laws of Canada govern this agreement.
- It works alongside the terms of use and privacy policy. If both sides later sign a separate agreement that covers confidentiality, the signed agreement governs where they differ.
- If Ravel updates this agreement, the new version applies only once the Organization accepts it. Until then, the version it accepted continues to apply.
